PearlDiver Technologies Adds EVP - Business Development

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (February 16, 2009) – PearlDiver Technologies Inc. announces the addition of Robert B. (Rob) Young as executive vice president – business development. In his new role with the company, Rob will lead the effort to build and maintain strong relationships with data suppliers and business partners to PearlDiver’s industry-best information handling and analysis capabilities. Based in Fort Wayne as of late 2006 and co-founded by brothers Robin and Benjamin Young (no relation to Rob Young), PearlDiver is an emerging growth company and leader in the life sciences information industry.

Rob Young joins PearlDiver after launching (in 2000) and running the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance, the local economic development organization serving Indiana’s second largest city and surrounding area. He holds a B.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State University and an M.A. in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.

PearlDiver's existing 136 million patient record database combined with PubMed's 14 million clinical papers offers surgeons and other healthcare professionals unprecedented information resources and capabilities. All of PearlDiver's databases are searchable by ICD-9 diagnostic and procedure codes as well as CPT and DRG codes.

PearlDiver is available to surgeons and other healthcare professionals in the form of a widget or surgeon dashboard by subscription but at no charge from the PearlDiver web site.

With the PearlDiver tool healthcare professionals will obtain key insights into patient care decisions. Patient records are available from 2004-2007 and are sort-able by gender, age and for every known orthopedic diagnosis or procedure.
